Sio Bi @ Open Air, Kuching, Sarawak

Saturday midnight, we went to open air for supper. The "Sio Bi" there is very nice. However, the taste of the "Sio Bi" that night is not as delicious as last time.

Fresh soya bean. =) Cold or warm, choose yourself.

Fried Kueh Tiaw / Mee / Bee Hun is available too. =)

Tomato sauce fried mee or kueh tiaw at RM 3.50 / RM 4.50 only.

Sugar Bun @ The Spring, Kuching, Sarawak

Today afternoon, my ex-classmates and I went to Sugar Bun at The Spring, Kuching.

Sugar Bun is a fast food restaurant that only available in Sarawak. Besides having fried chicken, fish, burgers, desserts and drinks, it also has asian cuisines (nasi lemak, bubur ayam...), waffles and ice blended drinks.

The taste of the food is OK. Below is a Prosperity set of fish, chicken, rice and cucumber salad. The price is RM 11.50.

I got myself a fish burger which costs RM 5.70. I like the fish burger here. The fish fillet taste great with the sauce.

You also can try the ice cream here which is "longer" than McD. The price is RM 1.50. However, you only can try all of this when you are in Sarawak. =P

*Please ignore the crazy girl in the photos. I apologize for that. LOL!

Beef Prosperity Burger @ McD, KL Sentral

Yesterday I had my lunch at McD, KL Sentral before depart to airport. I have tried the Beef Prosperity Burger. There are 2 types, double and single. I had the single beef prosperity set.

It costs RM15.60 with tax for a large set. However, the burger is very simple. Just a piece of beef with some onion toppings. There is a bit of black pepper sauce in it. I mean really "A BIT".

Well, the burger seems too normal for me. The taste doesn't attract me. Too simple. The curly fries also didn't taste good. Maybe it is because of the KL Sentral's McD branch problem? I'm not sure. But I advice you all not to try this burger. Cheese burger is so much better than this.

Big Apple Donuts & Coffee @ Jusco, Klang

That day after we took the dry bak kut teh at klang, we had a walk in JayaJusco, Klang. So we went to Big Apple to have some donuts. =)

This is the donut range of Big Apple Donuts & Coffee.

Look at these donuts, feel like having them all. They look good, delicious and attractive. The most important thing is that, they taste good as well.

We had 12 donuts at RM21 for 4 of us. Looks good man! Yummy~!! =P

The feeders are having their donuts. Yum yum~ They just taste so good~

The duren-duren donut must be consumed within 3 hours after purchased. As durian can't stand too long. The taste might run I guess. =P

Going back to Kuching, Sarawak today. Maybe I'll try out the Big Apple Donuts at kuching too. =P

You haven't been to Kuching until

you've tried KOLO MEE!

The Indians have their curries, the Thais have Tom Yum, the Pommies have Fish and Chips.

We Kuching people have KOLO MEE!

Yes, the legendary kolo mee. People have tried to imitate kolo mee outside of Kuching - heard about one in Singapore and I think there's one in Adelaide - but never have they suceeded, ever.

Strictly non-halal, pork both of the thinly-sliced barbecued and minced variety decorate the dish. Fresh noodles are boiled for a very short amount of time (hence the wonderful springy texture) and doused in pork lard, shallots and whatever magic stuff they put in there that makes us all addicted to this dish. Add some pepper, a dash of spring onions and kolo mee is ready to be served with a side garnish of fresh chilli in vinegar.

*slurp* Pure heaven.

Angels sing for kolo mee. Trust me. :P

Dry Bak Kut Teh @ Chuan Bee Restaurant, Klang

2 days ago, my coursemates and I went to one of our coursemate's house at klang. In the evening, we went to Chuan Bee Restaurant to try out the Dry Bak Kut Teh.

In other places, there are always Bak Kut Teh with soup. However, I prefer the dry Bak Kut Teh where the soup is served seperately. The taste is so nice until we had started eating before taking photos.

There are chilis in the herbs used to cook this dry bak kut teh. I only can tell you that, it tastes REALLY REALLY NICE! Makes me feel like staying in Klang forever. I LOVE BAK KUT TEH! Look at those meat, and the pork stomach. Yummy MAN!! Makes me hungry now.

Of course, never forget to have your Bak Kut Teh with hot chinese tea. We brought our own tea there. It is healthy to have them. We consumed our dinner at a really short time as it is really TASTY. If you have a chance to be in Klang, don't forget to try the dry bak kut teh at this restaurant. =)

Kenny Rogers ROASTERS @ Time Square, KL

MONDAY, my friends and I went to have our lunch at Kenny Rogers, Time Square.

Some of us ordered the four seasons drinks. The best thing that you must try is the muffin. There are vanilla, banana and chocolate muffins.

Most of us ordered the quarter meal, which included a quarter of roasted chicken, a muffin and 3 set of salads, mashed potatoes or fruits. The price of the quarter set is RM 15.90. However, the spaghetti looks nice in the menu, I will try it out some day in the future. =)

Of tarts, buns and prawn roe

Macao. Most people know it by the casinos. Lisboa, Venetian, Sands. I,however, know it by food.

Yes, there is more to Macao than gambling, smoking and sin. There's pretty Portuguese houses, wonderful panorama and heavenly food.

First up, the ubiquitous Portuguese egg tart. They say you haven't been to Macao until you've tried these tarts. I say aye!

Egg tarts fresh out of the oven. So hot that they burn and so delicious that you don't mind to be scorched.

Next up, the Pork Chop Bun. Just a direct translation but you get the gist. Interesting bun this one. When they say 'Pork Chop' they really do mean pork chop. Although it's not visible in the photo, there's a huge chunk of bone embedded in the succulent flesh - just like any pork chop.

Durian (left) and mango (right) ice-cream. Fresh. There are even natural fruit fibres in the dessert. Not a wonder that the Macanese are addicted to these.

Another rarity is this fella here. This is Bak Poh. You know, grilled succulent beef fillets that we eat too much during Chinese New Year and get a sore throat after. THIS here is a tiny variation. It's Wild Boar Bak Poh. HAHA!

Prawn Roe Noodles. Strange concoction of ingredients. A seafood lover I am, this dish was pretty mediocre. The only thing special about it was the roe. But then again, anybody could have made this out of their own kitchen given the right ingredients. Still, it was an unusual dish all the same.

Salted Fish and Chicken Fried Rice and Cuttlefish Fried Noodles. Funny how they both taste very similar to the ones we get in Kuching.

'Pepper Bun' - direct translation again. Strictly non-halal. Reason it's called Pepper Bun is that the pork ball enveloped inside the flaky pastry was seasoned with pepper kernels. Add a dash of spring onions and you've got the perfect afternoon snack. Seriously delicious.

A cousin of the Pork Chop Bun is the Chicken Chop Bun. Yes it was good. And yes it was better than the pork chop bun. YES it was one of the best things I've tried in Macao. :P

Cheese-baked Fried Chicken Rice. They say it's Portuguese. I say it's not too bad. Sticky cheese, nice crispy chicken and fragrant rice. Not a bad combination.

One last look at the tarts before we leave Macao.YUM! The next time you wish to travel to Macao, be sure to bring an empty stomach! :P

CHILI'S Grill & Bar Restaurant @ KLCC

It was one of the day in last year, me and my university friend having a lunch at Chili's Bar at KLCC. That day if I can remember correctly, was a reasonable busy day as it was a weekend. We waited for a while to be seated, fortunately it wasn't long. All eight of us decided to order different dishes in order to try out different menu offered by Chili's Bar. Before talking about the food, the environment is just comfortable and nice, with a small bar offering varies of cocktails and alcohol drinks.

All of the foods ordered were satisfying. Although the price is a bit at the higher side, but overall it's a good experience having lunch there. On the upper photo, there are chicken pita bread, fish n chip, lamb stick, and ceaser salad with chicken. While for the lower photo, there are lamb chop, chiken chop, chicken burger set, and beef stick.

All in all, this lunch is satisfying in term of quality and taste. It will be better taste if we could match the dishes with red wine. I will definitely go there once again for any celebration.

Shakey's Pizza @ Jusco, Wangsa Maju

That day before my gf went back to Kampar, we went to Shakey's Pizza at Jusco, Wangsa Maju.

We ordered a 2 person set. The drinks, mushroom soup and garlic bread taste really normal. I will say that the soup is just like Pizza Hut's.

The thing that taste the best among that meal set is the garlic bread. You know why? Let me show you the pizza.

We ordered Cheezy Chicken with extra cheese. However, the pizza looks really messy until we can't even see whats the topping on it. Is it because of the extra cheese that covered the topping? I'm not sure. Lets see the photo after we took the whole pizza out from the pan.

The pizza tastes real bad by comparing to Pizza Hut and Domino. Besides, we wanted EXTRA CHEESE, not EXTRA OIL. Look at the pan. OMG... I never had a pizza with so many oil on that pan. Imagine how oily could the pizza be?

We didn't finish the pizza that day. Besides, there are only chili and tomato sources. Next time, if there's other restaurant beside Shakey's, I will definitely choose the other restaurant. If there's only Shakey's available. I will choose to starve. =(

Chili's Grill & Bar @ MidValley

Today I went to one of my favourite restaurant with my gf. Its Chili's, at Mid Valley. =)

Since I'm getting fatter and fatter, pants getting more and more tight, so I think this will be my last dine in this wonderful place lol. Keep fit program coming up! After CNY? or Before CNY? OMG... I will think about that later.

Now lets talk about the Chili's FOOD! Well, honestly, all the dishes there is nice. So I don't have the best dish to introduce to all of you. Today we ordered a firecracker fish fillet, chicken chrispers, BOTTOMLESS hot coffee and lemonade. Although its bottomless but we din't refill. We were too FULL. XD

This is the firecracker fish fillet. Well, it looks good and taste good too. However I don't really like fish. I prefer beef and chicken. =D Thats why this is ordered by my gf. Oh yea, the photo isn't that clear because of the restaurant's lighting and we forgot to take it with Flash.

Oh yeah! Chicken chrispers! I like it because it has a lot of french fries. =X But 4 pieces of chicken really make me so FULL. And, my pants get tight after having them. =.= Well, actually I plan to have a mushroom burger, but unfortunately my gf doesn't take beef. So, maybe some other day, after I got my pants looser a bit. =P

So if you haven't try Chili's, don't forget to do so if you have a chance! So far, I been to Chili's in KLCC, Mid Valley and One Utama. It costs around RM40 each person. =D PLEASE TRY THEM OUT!!

Hints: Check out your pants before you order. =X
